We have a dedicated team of professionals who have many years experience in Health and Social Care, Administration and Management.

CTC Directors

Frederick Anthony Freeman (Tony) is currently Chairperson of the CTC. Tony is Branch Secretary for SSAFA Forces Help in Dumfriesshire & Stewartry. Tony is also a member of the Veteran’s Advice & Pensions Committee (VAPC), part of the Service Personnel & Veteran’s Agency (SPVA). He is now a church hospital/home visitor.

He has a Certificate in Health and Social Care (OU) and has worked as a carer/support worker for one of our local providers. Tony has completed the Company syllabus of training. He has completed his CIEH Risk Assessment Level 2 and the Professional Trainers Certificate.

Ivan Kennedy is our Health and Safety Representative for the company and current Vice Chair.

Ivan is also a SSAFA caseworker, a Childrens’ Panel member and has completed his CIEH Professional Trainer Certificate.

Muriel Ross was appointed a Director of the Company in 2008.

Muriel is a qualified lecturer with an HND in the business sector. She has experience in hairdressing, retail, and voluntary working at Headway House. She cared for three elderly parents and her sister in law with multiple sclerosis.

She was a Senior Lecturer in further education and managed a major training company before setting up first in partnership and then with her own training company running courses for disabled people and placing them with companies throughout the region.

She was the Central Contact for the original Care Training Consortium and was also involved in assessing the Home Care Practice Licence (HCPL) in partnership with Stirling University.

She is a qualified SQA Assessor and Verifier.

Barbara is our Company Secretary and Chief Executive. As such she is responsible for the day to day running of CTC and all strategic planning.

Barbara is a qualified lecturer with a Degree in Social Sciences and an HND in the business sector. She has experience of nursing, the voluntary sector and residential care, and worked as a senior lecturer in further education for over 20 years. She is a qualified SQA Assessor and Verifier and was an SQA assistant examiner for 3 years. She helped develop the Home Care Practice Licence in partnership with Stirling University.

She is also an Adult Literacies and ESOL Tutor, and has certificates in Health and Social Care (OU); CIEH Risk Assessment level 2 and Intermediate Food Hygiene.

Paula is our Operational Manager for the Company. Paula qualified as a Registered General Nurse (1st Level) in 1991.

Since then she has worked in a variety of nursing residential settings as a Senior Staff Nurse and then as a Nurse Manager for 12 years. Whilst managing nursing residential homes she has completed her NVQ Level 4 in Management and a Certificate in Management from the Institute of Management. She also achieved the D32, D33 and D34 Assessors’ and Verifiers’ Awards.

She has attended a variety of care courses over the years and also the Intermediate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. She has also completed an ESOL Introductory Certificate and her Professional Trainer Certificate.

Paula has also gained a certificate from Carlisle College, Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Sector.

Pamela is our SVQ Assesing Officer and trainer.

She has 30 years of experience in a wide variety of care settings in Administration, Delivery of care and Supervision. She has experience of Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Homecare, Residential and Dementia Care. She also worked in the supporting people service with younger service users.

Pamela has an SVQ in Care and Administration and is a qualified Assesor with an A1 award and Facilitative Trainers Certificate. She has completed her CIEH Professional Trainers Certificate, Advanced Food Hygiene Award which enables her to deliver foundation level Food Hygiene courses.

Pamela has recently completed her REHIS Infection Control which enables her to deliver REHIS Infection Control course.

Sheila is our Trainer/Assessor and has a number of years experience in the Care sector as Care Home Manager.
Vanda is our IT and Administrative Officer and has over 20 years experience in administration and IT.

She originally trained with South West Business Services in Office Administration skills. Vanda worked for 14 years as a Supervisor where she gained knowledge in Administration, Time management/production, Customer Service and Accounts.

She is proficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft applications. She has completed her CIEH Professional Trainers Award, Certificate of Mastery in Web Design and Concepts of Graphics and Certificate of Mastery in Windows Vista. She is responsible for the development of the company website and has completed her SVQ Business and Administration Level 3.
