The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Leading Change at SCQF level 9 offers candidates the opportunity to develop their managment competence in a specific aspect of managerial work' i.e. 'facilitating change', which is one of the six areas of competence identified by the standards setting body, Council Administration (CFA). This PDA concentrates on sources of change stemming from new ideas, as well as the commitment whic managers need to lead and support people through the implementation stage of the change cycle.

  • Entry Requirments: Must be work within a care setting and support of a manager to undertake the award.

Who's this course for

The main target groups for the PDA in Leading Change are people who are currently employed in managment posts, predominantly at first line, team leading and middle managment levels. The PDA in Leading Change consists of SVQ Units, which are workplace Units. To be eligible for these Units, candidates must have current occupational experience in a managment role and be able to generatethe relevent entry requirments.

Qualification

On successful completion of this Professional Development Award (PDA) in Leading Change, you gain 10 credits. This qualification has been designed to meet the requirments of social service workers who are in a job role where they assist in or administer Leading Change.

Content

The PDA in Leading Change at SCQF level 9 consists of two mandatory units:

  • FD3G 04 Encourage innovation in Your Area of Responsibility
  • FM4T 04 Lead Change

Method

A mixture of independent and guided learning. This means you must be able to attend a half day online workshop once a fortnight for a minimum of 5-6 sessions. In between these sessions you will have some research/study/assignment work. Assesment is ongoing and will take form of written reflective accounts and observation in the workplace.
