PDA in Leadership and Management of the Work of Others
The PDA in Leadership and Management of the Work of Others at SCQF level 7 focuses on two main areas of managerial competence providing leadershipn and managing the work of others in a department, section and division. Learners who succesfully achieve this PDA will possess the skills and competence to provide direction for people in their area of responsibility and enable, inspire, motivate and support them. They will also be able to allocate work on a fair basis, making best use of time available resources to ensure agreed objectives are met

Entry Requirements: Must be work within a care setting and support of a manager to undertake the award.
Who's this course for
The main target groups for this award is those currently employed in managment posts, usually at first linr or middle management levels (i.e. responsible for a particular section, division or department of an organisation). Learners must be in a suitable management job role and be able to generate the relevant evedince in the workplace.
Qualification
On successful completion of this Professional Development Award (PDA) in Leadership and Management of the Work of Others, you gain 23 credits. This qualification has been designed to meet the requirments of social service workers who are in a job role where they assist in or administer Leadership and Management of the Work of Others.
Content
The PDA consists of 2 SVQ units, which are workplace Units at 23 SCQF credits. To be eligible for these untits, learners must hace current occupational experience in a management role and be able to generate the relevant evidence.

Method
A mixture of independent and guided learning. This means you must be able to attend a half day online workshop once a fortnight for a minimum of 5-6 sessions. In between these sessions you will have some research/study/assignment work. Assesment is ongoing and will take form of written reflective accounts and observation in the workplace.
