PDA Health and Social Care Supervision

The Professional Develpoment Award (PDA) in Health and Social Care Supervision at SCQF level 7, was created to meet the requirments of social service workers who are registerd with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at support or practitioner level, and who are now in a supervisory role requiring additional qualifications. The PDA in Health and Social Care Supervision at SCQF level 7 is for candidates who require a qualification of 15 credits at SCQF level 7 or above in order to meet these SSSC requirements for Supervisors.

About this course

The PDA Health and Social Care Supervision is assessed in the workplace. Examples of the settings or centres in which the SVQ is likely to be delivered include: the NHS, private healthcare providers, adult care settings and training centres.

Entry Requirements: Must be working within a care setting and have the support of a manager to undertake the award.

Who's this course for?

This Qualification is designed for employees who are in their first-line-managment role and who provide supervision, support and guidence to other staff. Examples of possible job titles include senior care workers, senior support workers and senior day-care workers in services for older people, mental health, home care and housing support.

Qualification

On successful completion of this Professional Development Award (PDA) in Health and Social Care Supervision at SCQF level 7, you gain 15 credits. This qualification has been designed to meet the requirments of social service workers who are in a job role where they assist in or administer supervision to individuals.

Content

The award consists of 2 SQA untis, SCQF 16 credits at level 7.

  • F6CW 34 Health and Social Care: Supervise the protection of people

Method

A mixture of independent and guided learning. This means you must be able to attend a half day online workshop, plus once a fortnight for a minimum of 5-6 sessions. In between these sessions you will have some research/study/assignment work. Assesment is ongoing and will take form of written reflective accounts and observation in the workplace.
